HP Network Printer Installation Problems


Correct HP network printer installation helps the users to enjoy good quality and flawless printing services.


Below are the easy-to-follow instructions for troubleshooting HP network printer installation problems.

  • Disconnect USB cable from the HP printer.

  • Turn OFF the printer and switch it ON again.

  • In the left screen corner, go to “Start” button and look for “Search” option.

  • In the “Search” box, type: “Devices and Printers”.

  • Click “Devices and Printers”.

  • Look for the printer icon and right-click it. Select “Remove Device”. Make sure you continue following the on-screen prompts for completing the process. In case, there are multiple icons appearing on the screen, remove them all.

  • Reboot the PC. Bookmark the page for returning back to it quickly.

  • Check the Internet connectivity.

  • On the bottom left corner of the screen, go to “Start” and click on “Search” option.

  • In the “Search” box, type: “Devices and Printers”.

  • Click “Devices and Printers”.

  • Select “Add a Printer”. List of the printers appears when the “Add Printer” windows opens.

  • Click “The printer that I want isn’t listed”.

  • Select “Add a local printer or network printer” with manual settings and click “Next”.

  • Select “Use an existing port” drop-down list. Click on the LPT1: (Printer Port) and click “Next”.

  • Click “Windows Update”. Wait for the time when updates get completed.

  • In the “Install the printer driver” window, go to the “Manufacturer” category and select “HP”. Look for drivers under “Printer”.

  • When the right driver is found, USB cable is reconnected to the printer.

  • The “Installing Device Driver Software” window is displayed on the “Taskbar”. Wait till the time it disappears.

  • Click “Cancel” on “Add Printer” window.

Newly installed printer gets displayed in the “Devices and Printers” window.
